Breast Health Conference
Brief:
To organise a Scottish Breast Health Meeting to update medical professionals working in Breast Imaging in Scotland about the latest technological advances our company offers. Our company constantly strives to develop and introduce new technologies for better breast imaging and, as clinical users are key to the company's success, it is appropriate to offer them an educational and challenging interactive event with keynote speakers from the breast imaging field. In addition, hands-on workshops should showcase our latest technologies for delegates to try for themselves.
What we did:
This was the first time our client held an event for their Northern Region clients and it was therefore imperative that the venue fitted their criteria. We secured a variety of venues that fitted the brief which were then shortlisted for site visits. Integral to the event were the medical products as exhibition space was key. Once the venue was contracted we created a bespoke delegate registration website, arranged all accommodation and provided complete on-site support covering registration, audio-visual, speaker preview room, theming and entertainment.
Annual Conference & AGM
Brief:
To source a venue working to a specific brief and budget for our Annual Conference & AGM in Scotland. This is an education driven conference covering plenaries as well as 30 workshops over the duration.
What we did:
This is a year-long project whereby Origin are responsible for the full Event Management/Production & Logistics; working closely with our client in all areas including audio visual requirements which has a 2 day build, the securing of keynote speaker, theming, DVD of the conference, speaker liaison, exhibitor liaison, working to specific menu requirements, transportation, registration, organisation of 2 hotels to accommodate overspill accommodation and full on-site management.
Annual Environmental Law Conference
Brief:
This Annual conference is a knowledge platform of current topics within environmental law with the weekend being made up of plenaries and parallel workshops. The main objective is to find a university & dinner venue that supports our green housekeeping policies to show that we walk the talk! As we are a registered charity we work within very strict budget terms but at the same time we need to offer great venues that provide a high level of service whilst providing competitive delegate fees.
What we did:
This is a year-long project but the initial stage of the process is tasking us with 4 destinations at which point we benchmark against our client’s set criteria. Site visits are narrowed down to two destinations at which point conference venue, dinner venue and catering company are involved. We then provide a comprehensive report, which encompasses proposed delegate fees, carbon footprint, budget, sustainability, local or organic food & wine produce, for the committee to make their final decision. For this particular event we use our client’s event registration system; creating the event website, processing the registrants and managing the delegate’s online experience from start to finish. We create the design of the conference programme, liaise with speakers & sponsors. On-site we have a team of 5 managing registration and event logistics.
Biennial Social Event
Brief:
As a sports club of Dutch executives, entrepreneurs, medical specialist and the like we decided to visit Scotland in 2013. Our group is highly demanding based on their lifestyle and average “matured” age of around 60.
What we did:
This was a senior level group of gentleman who have travelled the world and who have high expectations of service & standards so we set to work in wowing them with Scotland’s best which included Highland Games at Hopetoun House, Dinner at an award winning restaurant, Salmon Fishing on the River Tay with an organic, locally sourced lunch and BBQ! We carried out site visits on a beautiful sunny day in May and welcomed the whole group in September.
Annual Company Dinner Dance
Brief:
Having successfully delivered a major internal leadership event for us in 2013, we called upon Origin Events to arrange and manage our company dinner dance in January 2014 when disaster struck with the venue at the last minute. Origin was brought in with just three weeks’ notice, which included the Festive period, to deliver an entire event.
What we did:
This was action stations at the ready so close to Christmas. The first port of call was to secure a venue for 360 guests whilst working with our partners to produce the theme from menu design, table décor, stage set and lighting through to event branding. The guests were welcomed to the drinks reception by glamorous chorus girls and the bubbles were flowing. The ballroom doors opened to the sound 1920’s genre music and decadent theming. The whispers of WOW echoed throughout the room, what a start to the evening. Following the delicious meal our guests were entertained by show stopping performance from the musical Chicago. It was then time for the guests to kick back their heels and dance the night away.
